KopyFeed Guide

Everything you need to get started — in under 5 minutes.

Getting Started

Up and running in under a minute

  1. 1

    Install the extension

Download KopyFeed from the Chrome Web Store. Works with any Chromium browser — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Arc.

  2. 2

    Copy something

Press Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C on Mac) anywhere in your browser. Text, code, links, images — KopyFeed captures it all automatically.

  3. 3

    Open your feed

Press Alt+Q to open the Side Panel, or visit kopyfeed.com/dashboard for the full web app experience.

KopyFeed only captures clipboard events inside your browser. It doesn't monitor your system clipboard, read files, or track browsing.

How Capture Works

Automatic, intelligent, private

Auto-capture: Every time you press Ctrl+C in your browser, KopyFeed automatically saves the content. No buttons to click, no new habits to learn.

Smart deduplication: Copy the same text twice? KopyFeed recognizes duplicates using content hashing and just bumps the timestamp instead of creating a duplicate.

Source tracking: Each clip remembers where it came from — the domain and page URL. This powers source-based browsing and feed filtering.

What gets captured

Text & notes
Code snippets
URLs & links
Images & screenshots

Plus rich metadata for YouTube, X/Twitter, TikTok, Spotify, Reddit, GitHub, Bluesky, and Vimeo links.

Sensitive content is protected

Passwords, API keys, credit card numbers, and private keys are automatically detected, masked in the UI, and auto-expire after 10 minutes. Sensitive clips are never sent to the cloud.

Excluded websites: Don't want KopyFeed capturing from certain sites? Add domains to the exclusion list in Settings → General.

Understanding Clips

Every copy becomes a clip. Here's what each type looks like.

KopyFeed detects your content type and renders it with the right format — code gets syntax highlighting, URLs show link previews, images show thumbnails, and social media gets rich metadata.

Anatomy of a clip

  • Category badgeAI-assigned category at the top of the card
  • Source domainWhere you copied it from, with favicon
  • TimestampWhen you captured it (relative time)
  • PinKeep important clips pinned to the top
  • Summary tabSwitch between content and AI summary (paid tiers)

Feeds & Organization

TweetDeck-style columns for everything you copy

Feeds are custom collections of clips with automatic routing. Create a feed, set filters, and matching clips flow into it automatically.

How to create a feed

  1. 1

    Click "Add Feed"

In the sidebar, click the + button to create a new feed.

  2. 2

Choose a template or start blank

Templates like Tech, News, Videos give you a head start with pre-configured filters.

  3. 3

    Set your filters

Filter by domain patterns, content categories, content types — or use AI natural language prompts.

  4. 4

    Customize appearance

Pick a name, icon, and color to make it yours.

  5. 5

    Optionally backfill

Enable retroactive scan to populate the feed with matching existing clips.

Filter types

  • DomainMatch specific websites (e.g., github.com, *.mozilla.org)
  • CategoryFilter by content category (code, link, youtube, etc.)
  • Content typeText, code, URL, or image
  • AI filterDescribe what you want in plain English
  • LogicCombine filters with AND (all match) or OR (any match)
AI feed filters use natural language — write prompts like "only security advisories" or "indie hacker tips and startup content". Available on Advanced and Pro tiers.

Side Panel

Quick access without leaving your tab

Press Alt+Q to open the Side Panel — a persistent sidebar for browsing, searching, and managing clips without switching tabs.

  • Toggle between Card view (rich media) and Row view (compact)
  • Pin, delete, or comment on clips inline
  • Generate AI feed summaries

Cloud Sync & Mobile

Your clips, everywhere

Enable sync: Go to Settings → Data and toggle Cloud Backup on. Your clips sync securely to the cloud.

Cross-device: Sign in with the same account on multiple browsers. Changes sync automatically — including deletions.

Mobile access: On Advanced or Pro, visit kopyfeed.com from any browser (including mobile) to access your clips without the extension.

Offline support: If you're offline, KopyFeed queues changes locally and syncs when you reconnect.

Cloud sync is optional. On the free tier, everything stays 100% local on your device. You own your data.
